Plastering in Norwich, Norfolk
Old ceilings sagging? Walls covered in fine cracks? We plaster homes right across Norwich, from the Golden Triangle terraces to the newest estates on the edge of the city. Neat work, tidy floors, and a free quote before you commit to anything.
Norwich has some lovely old houses, and plenty of them come with lath-and-plaster ceilings that have seen better days. Around the Golden Triangle, off Unthank Road and Newmarket Road, we get called out to walls that flex, crack or bulge when the old plaster starts to give up. We can skim over them for a flat, modern finish, or take things back and re-plaster properly where the wall needs it. Every job is different, so we take a look first and tell you straight what it needs.
Our plastering covers internal skimming, re-plastering tired or cracked walls, plasterboarding, ceilings, coving and decorative mouldings, and patch repairs where only part of a room has gone. Those decorative touches matter in a period Norwich house, and we treat them with care rather than ripping them out. If you need fire-rated plasterboard, we fit that too.
It is not all Victorian villas, either. Norwich has a lot of new-build homes, and we do a fair bit of snagging work on those, sorting the cracks, dinks and uneven patches that show up in the first year or two. Whether your place is a hundred and fifty years old or barely finished, the aim is the same: smooth walls and ceilings you can paint straight over.
We work all across the NR postcodes, NR1 through to NR16, so from the city centre out to the villages. Luke turns up when he says he will, keeps the mess down, and cleans up after. You are dealing with the person doing the work, not a call centre.
LDR Plastering and Rendering Specialists Ltd is fully insured, and every quote is free with no obligation. If you like what we say, great. If not, no hard feelings. To get booked in for a look, give Luke a ring on 07388 771580 and tell us what the walls are doing.
Plastering in Norwich: common questions
Can you skim over my old lath-and-plaster ceiling, or does it need taking down?
It depends on how sound it is. If the old ceiling is still holding firm we can often overboard and skim it for a fresh flat finish. If it is loose or sagging badly, taking it down is the safer bet. We will have a look and tell you honestly which way to go, free of charge.
Do you do snagging plastering on new-builds around Norwich?
Yes, a lot of it. Cracks and uneven patches are common in the first couple of years as a new house settles. We patch, fill and re-skim so it all looks right again. Ring Luke on 07388 771580 and we will pop round for a look.
