External Wall Insulation (EWI)

A full external wall insulation upgrade on a detached property in Bury St Edmunds to improve energy performance and refresh the façade with a breathable silicone render finish.

Scope of Works

1. Substrate preparation – clean and repair existing brickwork, apply primer

2. Insulation installation – fix high-performance boards with adhesive and mechanical anchors

3. Reinforcement – embed fibreglass mesh into a cementitious base coat for crack resistance

4. Silicone render application – two coats of breathable render in fine texture and chosen colour

5. Final inspection – remove coverings, clear debris and walk through with client

Materials & Standards

• Rigid external insulation boards with high thermal resistance

• Fibreglass reinforcement mesh and cementitious base coat

• Approved silicone render system for water-repellent, vapour-permeable finish

• All work to British Standards and manufacturer guidelines
