Silicone Render

This domestic project involved rendering a newly built single-storey extension to match existing brickwork, enhance weather protection and deliver a low-maintenance exterior finish.

Scope of Works

1. Substrate Preparation

   • Remove temporary protection and clean blockwork

   • Repair any minor surface defects and apply primer where required

2. Reinforcement Mesh & Base Coat

   • Embed fibreglass mesh into a cementitious base coat for crack resistance

   • Level out irregularities to create an even surface

3. Silicone Topcoat Application

   • Apply two coats of a breathable silicone render system

   • Fine-texture finish in the client’s selected shade

   • Neaten reveals, corners and junctions for crisp lines

4. Site Cleanup & Inspection

   • Remove protective coverings and clear debris

   • Walk the elevation with the client to confirm uniform coverage

• K-Rend Silicone Render System approved for long-term performance

• High-strength fibreglass reinforcement mesh

• Primer and bonding agents in line with manufacturer guidelines

• Work carried out to British Standards for external rendering
