Fascias, Soffits and Guttering in Wymondham
LDR Plastering & Rendering Specialists fit fascias, soffits and guttering across Wymondham and the nearby village of Hethersett. From cottages near the Abbey to the newer commuter estates off the A11, Luke and the team replace rotten timber with uPVC or fit new timber to suit. Fully insured, free quotes.
Wymondham packs a lot of different property into one town. There are old timber-framed and rendered buildings in the streets near the Abbey and the Market Cross, rows of Victorian and Edwardian houses beyond them, and then the newer estates that have grown out towards the A11 as the town has become a commuter base for Norwich. Each of those needs a slightly different eye when it comes to the roofline, and we work on all of them.
On the older properties the fascia boards are often timber that has been painted and repainted until the paint is doing more work than the wood underneath. Once it cracks, water gets in, and rot spreads quietly behind the gutter where nobody sees it until a board gives way. On the newer estate houses the boards are usually fine but the guttering has gone brittle, the joints leak, or a run has dropped and holds water.
Fascias, soffits and guttering in Wymondham and Hethersett
- uPVC or timber fascias and soffits
- New guttering and downpipes, plus repairs to existing runs
- Ventilated soffits to keep air moving through the roof space
- White, black, anthracite grey and rosewood among the colour options
We cover Hethersett as well, the village just up the road towards Norwich, where the mix of older cottages and newer housing throws up much the same range of jobs. Wherever you are between the two, the process is the same. We look at the roofline, check the access and the state of the boards behind the gutter, and give you a fixed price.
Choosing uPVC over timber is mostly about upkeep. It does not rot, it will not need repainting, and a wash now and then keeps it looking right. On a period property near the centre where timber is the better fit visually, we will say so, and rosewood uPVC is a good middle ground if you want the look of stained wood without climbing a ladder every few summers. Black and anthracite grey suit the newer estate houses, especially where the windows are already dark.
Most jobs are finished within a day or two depending on the size of the house. We take the old boards and guttering away with us and leave the place clean. We are fully insured throughout.

Fascia, Soffit & Guttering in Wymondham: common questions
Do you cover Hethersett as well as Wymondham?
We do. Hethersett is just up the road and it is well within our patch, older village cottages and newer housing alike. Call 07388 771580 and we will come and price the job for free.
Can I have timber rather than uPVC on a period property?
Yes. We fit both, and near the Abbey timber sometimes suits the building better. Rosewood uPVC is another option if you want that look without the repainting.
My guttering leaks at the joints. Does it all need replacing?
Not always. Sometimes a joint can be resealed or a run refixed to a proper fall. We will look at it honestly and only recommend a full replacement if that is what it needs.
What our customers say
"Luke and his team are some of the finest building contractors I have had the pleasure of dealing with over the last 25 years. The work completed for us was first class and the guys were respectful, polite and extremely tidy. Absolutely delighted with the finish and we'd have no hesitation in recommending Luke and LDR to anyone. Gary Baldwin - Eye, Suffolk"
"We are thrilled with the work that Luke, Brandon and Kirk have completed for us on our home. It has completely transformed the property, and given it a whole new identity. We had admired LDR's work in a nearby village on a number of properties, when we finally decided to approach Luke and team for a quotation, which we found to be very reasonable. Luke worked with us very openly and without pressure on a timeframe for completing our works, navigating inclement weather and our personal reservations. The team worked in a efficient, orderly and clean manner whilst at our property and filled us with great confidence that we had chosen the right contractor. An incredibly friendly, amenable and jovial team, and we thoroughly enjoyed having them around and can't thank you all enough for helping us make our house finally look more like a home"
"Luke and his team have done a few plastering jobs for us and we can't recommend them highly enough. Polite, efficient, tidy and work that is carried out to a high standard. When we need more work doing Luke will be our first point of contact."
"The LDR team we're great, they carried out internal plastering and and house rendering for us and we are really happy. Luke communicated well and was flexible to help us hit certain dates as to not slow down the project. We still have elements to finish so will be in touch in the near future."
"Outstanding work by conscientious workers. They take real pride in their work. Arrive on time and leave when each stage finished even when this is quite late and beyond 'normal work hours' Always tidy up as they go. Very polite and appreciative. Good communication on what each stage involves and materials used and why. Chose K Rend in pearl on the three outbuildings and it looks amazing."
"Luke, Brandon and Kirk have just applied K rend to the front of my house. Cannot thank the guys enough for an amazing job! It's so hard to get tradesmen you can trust these days but I have to say I would 100% recommend LDR Plastering. Very professional and clean and tidy when working and Luke obviously cares about his customers. Just make sure you give them plenty cups of tea!!! Luke has also done plastering for us inside and again did an amazing job. Can't thank them enough. 5 stars!"
