Silicone Render

Full external refurbishment of a two-storey cottage in Shelfanger using a K-Rend silicone render system to replace aged finishes and improve weather protection.

Scope of Works

1. Substrate preparation – remove old render, clean brick and block surfaces and apply bonding primer

2. Reinforcement mesh and base coat – embed fibreglass mesh into a cementitious coat for crack resistance

3. Silicone topcoat application – two coats of fine-textured silicone render in the client’s chosen pastel hue

4. Detailing – neat finishing at quoin corners, window reveals and junctions with existing brickwork

5. Completion – clear site, remove protective coverings and conduct a final walkthrough with the client

Materials & Standards

• K-Rend silicone render system approved for long-term durability and breathability

• High-strength fibreglass reinforcement mesh and compatible base coat

• Primer and bonding agents applied in line with manufacturer guidelines

• All work carried out to British Standards for external rendering
